Proceeds from tastings this weekend will be donated to the Australian Red Cross to help victims of the devastating bush fires.  Clos Du Val’s sister winery, Taltarni, is located in the state of Victoria, but was spared any damage.  However, many in the Victoria wine community has been affected and we are participating in the fundraising efforts to send help to the region.  As a gesture of thanks, every guest will receive a complimentary splash of Taltarni Brut Taché sparkling wine.

Internationally-acclaimed Mexican-born artist Oscar Aguilar Olea, who now lives and paints in Napa Valley, will be on-site at the winery the weekend of March 7 & 8.  Meet and observe the noted artist at work while being the first the enjoy the newly-released Napa Valley 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 2007 Carneros Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and the 2007 Ariadne.  An exhibition of Oscar’s paintings are on display at the winery through the end of the year.

This year, the Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association’s annual Vineyard to Vintner event will celebrate Stags Leap District’s 20th Anniversary with an evening festivity at Clos Du Val. Our founding winemaker and Stags Leap District pioneer, Bernard Portet will be in attendance alongside current winemaker John Clews. Join us in celebration! This is the only wine auction event open to the community. This event features the culinary creations of Napa’s world-famous restaurants and artisan food purveyors and the famous Barrel Tasting and Auction. Our winemaker John Clews will be pouring barrel samples of a special blend of 2007 Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon—among dozens of barrels of Napa Valley wines to be offered at auction to raise money for charity.
